Encapsulation is a carpet cleaning process using a cleaning chemical which wraps up or encapsulates the soil and detergent residue so that it is easily removed by dry vacuuming.

Encapsulation has been used in shampoo processes for over 20 years mainly in commercial cleaning. It uses very little water compared with extraction and a very fast dry is possible. With some machines a large area can be cleaned in a very short time. Recent advances in shampoo chemistry making use of polymers which assist the encapsulation process mean encapsulation is increasing in popularity, and is being applied over a more diverse range of work. Sonitron® "ZENITH" is typical of these improved products. Zenith is suitable for use with all types of machines available for this process.

Encapsulation chemicals can be applied with single brush rotary shampoo or with reel type brush machines with single or multiple brushes and brush height adjustment. The triple rotary brush Cimex shown below is easy to control and does a thorough clean.
